Mozilla Thunderbird 0.6. An excellent email client with both POP(Post Office Protocol) and IMAP(Internet Mail Access Protocol) support from the same group that brought you Mozilla Firefox. Version 0.6 has new icons and improves on its killer feature: adaptive filtering. By marking spam as junk mail, Thunderbird learns to recognize spam by itself with great accuracy.

Ned BatchelderLilyPond. Powerful music typesetter licensed under the GNU(GNU's Not Unix) GPL(General Public License). Includes a utility to convert MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface) files to sheet music as well.

Mutopia Project. Sheet music in the public domain. Similar to Project Gutenberg, except music instead of books.

Blender 2.33 Released. Another awesome FOSS(Free and Open Source Software) project, Blender is a 3D modelling and animation program. I used to use it a year ago, when I had more time. Perhaps I should pick it up again. Recent progress has introduced animated radiosity, a new UI(User Interface), raytracing, and the reintroduction of the gaming engine.

Formation. This looks like an incredibly useful PHP(PHP: Hypertext Processor) library for making forms. I'll have to play around with it some day.

The Passivator. A bookmarklet for checking the use of passive verbs. If I get very ambitious, I'll use this on my blog entries. It's a bit useful for essays. (Note: does not work in IE(Internet Explorer))

What I miss is Rhino, a very very cool 3D modeller with essentially the snapping and glueing features of Autocad. I had the beta, umm...over seven years ago and was playing with it, but never learned the real power of it until I had been exposed to Autocad. It's friggen expensive now, heh.

I can't download LilyPond; the Windows site is down. Once again, my efforts to learn LaTeX and write music easily are thwarted...
